Resolving Proxy Message in Google Chrome

When I start Google Chrome web browser on my Windows machine, I noticed it takes some time “Resolving proxy” (bottom left corner) before the page loads. Here are the steps to fix, but you might not be able to do this on publicly shared computers:

  1. Click the wrench icon tools menu on the browser toolbar.
  2. Select Options.
  3. Click the Under the Hood tab.
  4. In the “Network” section, click Change proxy settings. This will open the Internet Properties dialog.
  5. Click LAN settings .
  6. Deselect the “Automatically detect settings” checkbox.
